The Genoa Boat Show is finally confirmed and will take place from 1st to 6th October 2020.

The confirmation of the event is a result of numerous meetings and discussions between the President of the Liguria Region, the President of the Italian Marine Industry Association and the Mayor of Genoa. The Italian Marine Industry Association reaffirmed how crucial an event like the Genoa Boat Show is for kickstarting an industry of such strategic importance to the national economy after the tremendous losses caused by the lockdown period. All institutions present reiterated their commitment to provide the Italian Marine Industry Association with all the support they need in terms of structures and personnel to ensure the event will provide the highest standards of health and safety.

Among the procedures adopted to secure the event, a dedicated platform for online ticket purchase has been implemented, as well as bookings for parking spaces, specific cameras for screening of the temperature before access, and many more sanitary measures. The design and construction of new floating structures for the positioning of exhibitor stands have been implementer to further favour the flow of the visitors.

Saverio Cecchi, President of Confindustria Nautica: “We never stopped, continuing to work without sparing ourselves, committing additional resources to achieve this goal. The support of local institutions was decisive in this process, which demonstrated their great ability to continue to organise the event in a period of total emergency never experienced before, as well as the adoption by the government of a specific rule for international events. ”

“The complex path that leads us to this year’s Boat Show – continues President Cecchi – would not have been possible without the companies in the sector who believed in the project, to which my thanks go, for not only being in Genoa to represent the excellence of Made in Italy, but also to actively participate in the relaunch of the economy and image of the country. ”

The 60th Genoa Boat Show stands as a post-Covid management model, even beyond the sector, with which the main international events will be able to deal with. The ten-year contract, signed by Confindustria Nautica with the Liguria Region and the Municipality of Genoa, also makes the event more and more central, recognizing the organizational ownership of Confindustria Nautica with respect to a heritage that belongs to the companies as well as the territory that welcomes them every year, and where the boat show develops an induced activity exceeding 60 million euros.
