FLIBS 2021, A SMALLER BUT VERY SUCCESSFUL YACHT SHOW COMPARED TO PREVIOUS EDITIONS

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is one of the most famous yacht shows worldwide.
Part of the brokerage team at Althaus Luxury Yachting has participated in the show, showcasing specific yachts on display to their clients, who managed to travel and therefore attend the event.
This five-event show has demonstrated to be highly successful, exhibiting some of the latest and most notable yachts and toys available on today’s yachting market. From a superyacht standpoint, concrete data say that more than 640 exhibitors and 680 yachts have participated to this year’s Fort Lauderdale International’s Boat Show. Approximately 20 large superyachts between 60 and 70 meters were on show, belonging to the most renowned international shipyards.
In comparison with the previous editions, we have noticed a decline in the number of superyachts, mostly regarding yacht arriving from Europe. This part of yachts was noticeably absent due to the US-imposed travel restrictions on Europe (set to expire on November 8th).
However, besides this downfall, the registered visitors, compare to the previous editions, have demonstrated to be all highly interested in the displayed yachts, with great potential of buying or chartering. This said, very few people came to the show for entertainment purposes.
Seeing these main yachting events take place is an excellent signal that, slowly, the world is coming back to normal. After our presence at the Monaco Yacht Show, our brokerage team has been pleased to re-meet all the yachting community, exchanging great insights on the past and the future of yachting.
