Today the much attended Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2021 will begin, giving a fresh start t the Mediterranean superyacht regatta season.

A total of 16 yachts are set to participate, and 9 yachts will compete.

Beside the traditional organization and line-up, the event will include The Southern Wind Rendez-vous regatta, with the aim to celebrate 30 years of the South African super sailing yacht builder. For the first time in history a multihull division will participate, with four competing yachts.

This one-week regatta will take place between the coast of Costa Smeralda and the well known island of La Maddalena. Among the participant yachts, there will be McConaghy Boats 30.48-meters Leopard 3, Southern Wind’s 28.6-meter Aragon, and Nautor’s Swan’s 35-meter Shamana.

The regatta will strictly follow the health and safety requirements in compliance with Covid-19 protocols, in order to ensure  the safety of all the crew, participants and visitors. All followed protocols have been issued by the Italian government in collaboration with the region of Sardinia, the YCCS and the Italian Sailing Federation.

Today 1st June the captains briefing will take place. The actual race day will run from Wednesday 2nd June to Saturday 5th June.  For all sailing and regatta lovers, do not miss the chance to be part of this wonderful event!
